Is your automatic back up power system performing it’s weekly test? If not, it should be. It’s an important part of maintaining the health of your standby power unit. Usually a weekly test is advisable to ensure the unit is running properly and at it’s highest efficiency level. The weekly test will alert you to issues such as a low battery or an issue with the voltage. The weekly performance tests are also crucial in protecting your warranty. The majority of our maintenance calls come after a test has been performed prompting a warning light.
The nice part is you can set your unit to run it’s test automatically and you don’t even have to think about it. But you need to be alert to if it is running the test as scheduled. If it is set to run while you are not at home, check the unit periodically to ensure there are no warning lights that have been prompted by the test. The best light is the green light. All is good!
Enrolling in Mobile Link and Fleet Monitoring allows you and us as your service provider to know if the unit is running properly. We even can monitor for faults and know how many hours the unit has run. We include one year of this monitoring in our installation packages. It’s an added value up front but goes a long way toward protecting your unit through the course of it’s life.
The weekly exercise is part of the preventative maintenance. Knowledge is Power as they say. Having the knowledge before the emergency that your unit is running provides further peace of mind. Can you put a price on peace of mind?
